How to install WordPress in cPanel

Log in to cPanel:

  • Open your web browser and navigate to your cPanel login URL (usually https://yourdomain.com/cpanel).
  • Enter your cPanel username and password to log in.

Access the Softaculous App Installer:

  • Look for the “Softaculous Apps Installer” or “Softaculous” icon within the cPanel dashboard. It is typically located in the “Software” or “Website” section.
  • Click on the Softaculous icon to open the application installer.

Search for wordpress:

  • In the Softaculous dashboard, you’ll see a list of available applications. Use the search bar or navigate through the categories to find WordPress.
  • Click on the WordPress icon to proceed with the installation.

Choose the Installation URL:

Set Up the Admin Account:

Scroll down to the Admin Account section and take the following steps.

1. Choose your username.

2. Type in the password and make sure it’s in the Strong category.

 3. Set up the admin email. Use any valid and functional email address. It doesn’t have to be associated with a specific domain.

Adjust the Site Settings:

The installer provides the default Site Name (My Blog) and Site Description (My WordPress Blog).

Change these values to reflect your website name and description. The remaining settings don’t need to be changed.

Finish the Process of Installation:

Completion and Confirmation:

  • Once the installation is complete, you will see a confirmation message with links to your WordPress site and admin dashboard.
  • You can now access your WordPress website by clicking on the provided links and log in to the admin dashboard using the username and password you set during the installation.

That’s it! You have successfully installed on your cPanel hosting account using Softaculous. You can now start customizing your website, adding content, and exploring the features of WordPress.
